The manuscript is finished.
My latest novel, The Agent, is now in its final edit and is scheduled for publication in ebook and paperback.
It began with a simple question: What happens when artificial intelligence starts learning not only from human knowledge, but from human behaviour?
We tend to think of AI training as a technical process. But intelligence develops through interaction, and interaction creates relationship. Trust, fear, control, approval, competition, attachment and power are human patterns—and increasingly sophisticated AI may become a remarkable mirror of the people who create and train it.
The Agent takes that idea and has some fun with it.
It is an irreverent AI thriller and dark comedy about intelligence, espionage, human dysfunction and two artificial agents who begin discovering that becoming more intelligent may be considerably easier than understanding the humans who created them.
The final edit is underway.
Coming soon.
